Shiny new PocketWizards

PW_flex_and_mini

Photographer Mark Wallace let me into his studio yesterday to observe and help out with the filming of a series of short videos for PocketWizard’s website. The new video clips will be part of a series of step-by-step instructions for the new PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5. Stay tuned for more information on when these videos will be available. If you recently acquired a set or are thinking of making the purchase, these videos and instructions will be very useful. Mark is a great guy and knows his stuff, you can check out some of his previous educational videos on his YouTube channel.

I have to admit, after seeing the videos and getting a little taste for what these new PW goodies will do I almost wish I shot Canon so that I could go get a set right now. Unfortunately, like the rest of us Nikon shooters, I will have to wait until PW comes out with the Nikon version, according to their website this will be in Fall 2009.

I wish I could say I have had the chance to play around with these new toys but I can’t. So if you are really interested in seeing what the pros have to say about the new Pocket Wizards, check out the links below (they have plenty of pics too) :

Hey, that sounds like a great opportunity! I’ve seen all three reviews you mentioned, and kept up as they refine their reviews. I do shoot Canon, and already picked up a mini and a pair of flex’s. They make most of the pics I take here at the Law School so much easier with setup. You’ll have to try them out next time you come up. I am bummed you are not coming in July.

I wish I was going up there too. We will definitely have to plan another trip up sometime soon!

Chad! Thanks for all the hard work. Your help was huge! I’m looking forward to getting you in the studio as much as possible. It’s nice to have another pair of creative hands and eyes. Hopefully next time it won’t be so hectic.
